Himalayan Salt Lamps and their amazing benefits

I have a new friendship that I would like to share with you. Its name is Himalayan Salt Lamp.

Not only am I in love with the Himalayan Salt Lamps; I am also in love with the beautiful ambiance they provide my home with and I’m also very impressed with the fact that they deter negative ions that are put out into the air from televisions, microwaves, computers etc.

So you’re probably wondering what I’m talking about? Let me explain…

Known as “Vitamins of The Air”, the Himalayan Salt Lamp is Nature’s best Ioniser which provides multiple health benefits including enhancing immunity, improving sleep and relieving migraines. These lamps are highly beneficial to your health and wellbeing.  Himalayan Salt Lamps are natural ion generators, emitting negative ions into the atmosphere.

Why is this a good thing? Negative ions are good for you! Negative ions restore and neutralise air quality. Negative ions can be used to treat illness and improve health. Our homes and offices are filled with electrical appliances and electronics (televisions, computers, florescent lighting, microwaves, heaters, air-conditioners, etc.). Use of such devices have been blamed for lowering our energy levels, making us feel tired, cranky, and depressed because of their emissions of positive ions. Keeping a rock salt lamp in areas where positive ions are polluting your air space will help neutralize the air you breathe. Balancing positive and negative ions also help reduce airborne infections.

Rock salt lamps are made from salt crystals that are approximately 250 million years old from the Himalayan mountain regions. Mined crystals come in a variety shades including white, pink, peach, orange, and reds. You can choose a natural or sculpted shaped lamp. Sculpted lamps are available in a variety of shapes: spheres, pyramids, cones, blocks, bowls, etc. Tea-lights are also available

How Do Rock Salt Lamps Work?

The heat from a lighted salt lamp attracts moisture. The evaporation of water through salt emits negative ions. How many negative ions a salt lamp can release depends on its size and how warm an electric light bulb makes it. A night-light sized salt lamp would be effective for an office cubicle. Naturally, the larger an area means a larger lamp is needed so that more negative ions will be emitted.

If you would like to take advantage of the Salt Lamps but you’re not too sure about having them in your house, why not try salt therapy at a “Salt Cave”?  Salt Therapy is a drug free treatment that reproduces the natural micro climate of a salt cave by dispersing a dry salt aerosol in high concentrations in a halo chamber whose surfaces are covered with layers of salt. The dry salt aerosol in the room plays an important role in the relief of health problems and is a highly effective therapy for treating people with respiratory problems and skin conditions without any known side effects.

Within the salt room (or Himalayan salt cave) a microniser is used to pump a dry aerosol Himalayan salt aerosol into the air. As the Himalayan salt is inhaled, it travels through the sinuses and respiratory tract absorbing moisture, cleansing, clearing mucus, killing bacteria and reducing inflammation.
