Our Products and Ingredients

Our entire EverEscents range is 100% colour safe. By not using stripping cleansing agents, sulphates or moisture blocking silicones in our products, the hair naturally retains moisture therefore enhancing and retaining colour pigment for longer.

The entire EverEscents Organic Haircare range is formulated to be completely safe for women to enjoy using throughout pregnancy. If in any doubt about using essential oils during pregnancy, please seek the advice of your healthcare provider.

All EverEscents product formulations are safe for children and we often suggest the Rose or Lavender ranges as beautiful and gentle family-friendly options.

If your little one is known to be sensitive to scent or essential oils, our Fragrance Free range is well suited for the most delicate of skins, especially small babies, and is Australian Allergy Certified by Safe Cosmetics Australia.

While our ingredients are organic, naturally sourced, and extremely gentle we do recommend patch testing whenever trying out a new product.

Absolutely! The EverEscents products are great to use on pets due to their gentle, natural and organic formulas. Many people will wash their pets with the same Shampoo they use on themselves, however if your pet has sensitive skin or any skin conditions, we recommend reaching straight for the Fragrance Free Shampoo.

When stored at room temperature (less than 30 degrees Celsius) we guarantee our products for 2 years – we call this our ‘guaranteed shelf life.’

Once opened we recommend using our products within 6 months – we call this our ‘best before guide’ primarily to ensure optimum fragrance and benefits from the organic essential oils in our formulas.

Once opened for more than 6 months our products may start to lose a little fragrance but they won’t lose any performance and are certainly safe to use.

The EverEscents range has been a firm favourite with the curly community as a trusted Australian Brand producing sulphate and silicone free, organic Shampoos and Conditioners for many years.

Our Lemon & Sandalwood Cleanser and all EverEscents Conditioners and Treatments are Curly Girl Approved.

Our low-lather EverEscents Shampoos are curl friendly.

Some products in our styling range are Curly Girl Approved and some are just curl friendly.

All EverEscents products are fantastic for curly hair, and if you are not following the Curly Girl Method strictly, you can enjoy every single one of our products!

The term Certified Organic means that the product must comply with strict standards and regulations set by the Certified Organic industry. While we have chosen not to go through the Organic Certification process for each of the products in our range, the very high percentage of organic ingredients used in EverEscents products have been certified as organic by accredited agents who verify that they meet the National Organic Standards.

In Australia the major certifying bodies require a minimum of 70% Organic ingredients to allow a product to be Certified Organic. EverEscents easily surpasses these requirements by ensuring every product contains at least 76% and up to 96% Certified Organic ingredients, with most products containing 100% naturally derived ingredients.

Consumers are now assured that Certified Organic ingredients have no pesticides, synthetic insecticides, fungicides, herbicides or genetically modified ingredients used in any phase of their production, from farm to consumer.

Absolutely not, all EverEscents products are fragranced with Certified Organic Essential Oils and their colour is a result of the natural ingredients used.

Certified Organic by the ACO in accordance with the Australian National Standard for Organic and Biodynamic Produce means our range of Essential Oils have been crafted using the most ecologically sustainable methods possible. The plant material has been farmed organically and extracted using natural methods rather than pesticides to ensure the biodiversity of the plants eco system is preserved, eliminating the possibility of product contamination.

We are passionate about being a Palm Oil free company. Our ingredients are sourced from a supplier who has a Palm Oil Sustainability agreement, and only purchases Palm Oil from members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPOS).

You can read more about our commitment to being Palm Oil free and our partnership with the Orangutan Project here on our website.

Sulphates are surfactants, detergents and emulsifiers, and are found in most cleaning and personal care products. Sulphates are commonly added to hair care products to act as foam boosters. Sulphates are strong in cleansing power, low in cost yet are also highly irritating to humans.

Some problems associated with Sulphates include scalp irritations, drying out the hair, damaging the hair, split ends and irritation to the skin and eyes. Sulphates in personal care can even link to organ toxicity, reproductive toxicity and endocrine disruption.

We include Coco-betaine in all of the shampoos across the EverEscents range. Coco-betaine is a natural foaming agent derived from coconut oil and mustn’t be confused with Cocamidopropyl betaine which is a much harsher chemical compound.

Silicones are like a band aid. They may feel luxurious or moisturising on application and create a temporary illusion of healthy hair; however, they are only a surface solution.

Over time, they can build-up on the hair and form a plastic/polymer layer preventing true moisture from entering. This can cause the hair to become dull, brittle, greasy and weighed down.

While some silicones are lighter or heavier than others and not all created equal – by using our silicone free conditioners and stylers you can trust the healthy results achieved are genuine and from pure and natural origins.

We do not use Vitamin C (also known as Ascorbic Acid) in our products.

No, they definitely do not.

Propylene Glycol is present in many hair care products for its humectant qualities (drawing water to itself). Propylene Glycol is a petrochemical and is a primary irritant. It is usually used in place of glycerine, a highly effective plant derived humectant, because it is cheaper. Studies have shown that Propylene Glycol is not safe as the potential health effects include kidney damage, liver abnormalities, contact dermatitis, skin rashes, neurotoxicity and dry skin (The Chemical Maze, Bill Stratham).

EverEscents does NOT use Propylene Glycol in any of our products.

No, this range does not contain any essential oils or fragrances and is Australian Allergy Certified.

The Natural Extracts we use in the Fragrance-Free products are derived from botanicals that are steeped, rather than extracted as oils – in this way we’re able to deliver all the benefits without the fragrance.

Our Fragrance-free range is low allergen, very gentle, safe for everyday use on even the most sensitive skin and is a great option for anyone that is sensitive to scent or suffering from scalp conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, or eczema.

Hair is primarily made up of a protein called Keratin, this is what gives hair it’s strength and structure. At times when our hair feels a bit limp or lacklustre, a protein treatment can bolster this and give our hair a bit more life and volume.

However, confusingly moisture will often do the very same thing!

If in doubt, steering towards moisture is a great option – as plumping up the hair shaft will always make your hair feel healthier, fuller, and more resilient to the elements.

However, if you frequently colour your hair and/ or use heat tools more often than not, your hair likely needs protein and moisture.

Not at all. There is absolutely no risk of brittleness or adverse effects when using the Remedy range. Our Remedy Shampoo and Treatment contain a very gentle, mid-micron Hydrolysed Rice protein which will not build up on the hair shaft even if the product is used all day, every day. Your hair will absorb as much protein as it needs and the rest will simply wash away.

We highly recommend speaking with your health care provider first, as often hair loss will be caused by internal factors.

In our EverEscents range we have two shampoos that may be beneficial for preventing hair loss and/ or promoting hair growth. They both contain organic ingredients and essential oils that help to promote optimal scalp health. A healthy scalp is the foundation of healthy hair.

The EverEscents Rose Shampoo contains Organic Rosemary Essential Oil which stimulates blood circulation in the scalp, thus being beneficial for promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss. Rosemary Essential Oil is a great tonic for overall hair health.

Our EverEscents Fresh Mint Shampoo contains Organic Peppermint Essential Oil which stimulates skin cell circulation in the scalp which can help with increasing dermal thickness, follicle number, follicle depth and overall hair growth.

Like our hair, our scalp reacts to the environment, seasonal changes, hormones and diet. Plus, our systems are in a constant state of flux, so sometimes a product we may have used for a while, with no unpleasant effects at all, can suddenly seem to cause itchiness.

As the scalp is home to the largest pores on our body it is absolutely necessary to ensure our  shampoos, conditioners and stylers are thoroughly removed each time we wash.

Double cleansing whilst applying firm finger pressure to the scalp is extremely important. The first cleanse ensures all product build up is removed and the second ensures the scalp is deeply and thoroughly cleaned, without any build up in the way.

Before you choose a product, you must determine what is causing the scalp irritation.

If the irritation is due to build up, not cleansing enough, not cleansing properly or co-washing (cleansing hair with a conditioner), it is likely that your scalp needs a good thorough clean! The EverEscents Fresh Mint Shampoo is the perfect example of a gentle, low lather yet deeply clarifying product to remove any oil and build up while stimulating and rejuvenating the scalp.

If the irritation is caused by dryness, environmental aspects (weather), sunburn, hormones or diet, the Lavender Shampoo may be your savior. The Lavender Shampoo soothes and nourishes all hair types. Lavender Essential Oil is known to be antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal and will soothe dry and irritated areas and alleviate mild scalp conditions and irritations. The beautiful Burdock Root found in this formula may prevent buildup of yeast and bacteria on the scalp as well.

If the irritation is caused by a medical condition, an allergy or a sensitivity to scent, Fragrance Free is the best option for you. This range is Australian Allergy Certified and is safe for everyday use on even the most sensitive scalps, and of course, does not contain any Essential Oils or scents.

Not at all. The EverEscents Berry Blonde range is very unique in comparison to other blonde ranges on the market. We call this range our ‘maintenance range’ meaning that it will keep the correct colour balance in between salon visits and will gently reduce brassiness through regular use of the products.

The Berry Blonde products contain absolutely no artificial blue or purple dyes, their natural colour comes from Red Sweet Potato and Blue Gardenia Berries. Due to the 100% natural toning properties, this range can be used every single day without any risk of over toning.

All EverEscents shower products are safe for use on hair extensions due to our mild and organic formulas that do not contain sodium chloride, sulphates or silicones.

Our Remedy Shampoo and Treatment contain a medium amount of protein which may interfere with some brands of extensions; however, it is very unlikely due to the type of protein we use. We do recommend caution when using our Remedy products on extensions and would suggest choosing a different shampoo and conditioner / treatment in our range.

Most EverEscents leave-in products also contain a small amount of protein. These products are designed to be used along the mid-lengths and ends of the hair, if you apply these products as described you will be avoiding the hair extension connectors and should have no issues. However, it is completely at your discretion whether you would like to use our leave-in products with hair extensions.

Our ranges listed in order of moisture content are as follows, with Bergamot being the lightest formula suited to finer hair types with oily roots, and our Berry Blonde range being best suited for extra dry, porous, and thirsty hair types.

  • Bergamot
  • Rose
  • Lavender
  • Fresh Mint
  • Fragrance Free
  • Remedy
  • Moisture

Many Salon stockists also offer the amazing EverEscents refill service. All refill salons will have ‘REFILL SALON’ listed beside their salon name on the Salon Locator Page.

Please email our team at contact@ethicalbrandco.com.au and we can assist you further

It is completely at the discretion of the salon that you are refilling your product at.
Many salons ask that their customers bring in a clean, empty bottle for refilling as it is more pleasant for the staff member refilling the bottle and the cost is easier to calculate.

It is also best to use up all the product in the bottle before refilling to avoid mixing an older batch of product with a newer, fresher batch.

Some salons don’t mind either way so always check with them first.
