We are proud to be announced Winner of the 2026 Clean + Conscious Circularity Award.
This recognition means so much to us because sustainability has been part of EverEscents’ journey from the very beginning. As an Australian Made professional organic hair care brand, we believe creating high performing products goes hand in hand with considering the impact on people and the planet.
From the refill program to the use of recycled packaging, we are continually looking for ways to reduce waste, make more thoughtful choices and help keep valuable resources in use for longer.
What is circularity, and why does it matter?
Circularity is about rethinking the traditional approach of making, using and throwing products away. Instead, it focuses on keeping materials and resources in circulation for as long as possible through practices such as reusing, refilling and recycling.
In the hair care industry, packaging is an important part of this conversation. Every bottle has a lifecycle, from the materials used to make it to what happens when the product inside has been used.
How EverEscents encourages circularity
At EverEscents, we believe small, practical changes can make a meaningful difference.
Almost all of our plastic product packaging is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic milk bottles. By using plastic that has already served a purpose, we help give existing materials another life rather than relying solely on virgin plastic.
By encouraging customers to refill their bottles and choosing recycled materials for our packaging, we’re working towards a more considered approach to professional hair care.
In the past 12 months alone, our refill initiatives have prevented approximately 1,299 kilograms of plastic from being discarded into landfill.
Our refill program wouldn’t have the same impact without our salon stockists and their clients.
Giving packaging materials another purpose
Our commitment to circularity extends beyond our products and into our warehouse operations.
Where possible, we look for practical ways to reuse materials rather than sending them straight to waste. One example is our use of shredded cardboard for packing orders. Instead of discarding suitable cardboard, we can give it another purpose as protective packaging, helping reduce the need for additional packing materials.
It’s a simple initiative, but it reflects the way we approach sustainability across the business: looking at the resources we already have and considering how they can continue to be useful.
By finding new uses for materials that might otherwise be thrown away, we can make better use of existing resources and reduce unnecessary waste in our day-to-day operations.
Creating a culture of sustainability
Circularity also relies on the everyday choices people make. That’s why we believe sustainability needs to be part of our workplace culture at EverEscents, supported by practical education and a shared commitment across the team.
Through staff waste education, in-house recycling initiatives and workplace waste audits, we continue to look at how waste is generated, where materials can be diverted from landfill and what we can do better.
Waste audits help us understand what is being thrown away and identify opportunities to improve how materials are sorted, recycled or reused. Combined with staff education, they help turn sustainability from an idea into practical habits that can be carried through the working day.
We know that creating meaningful change takes ongoing attention. By encouraging our team to think more consciously about waste and the resources we use, we can continue identifying opportunities to improve the way we work.
For us, sustainability isn’t about getting everything perfect. It’s about being willing to look at our practices, learn from them and keep finding ways to do better.
